What Brink Debrief does
It records a conversation, transcribes it with a timestamp on every line, labels each line as you (“Me”) or the other side (“Them”), pins your notes at the moment you took them, and writes a summary with the actions and decisions. All of it runs on your phone; nothing is uploaded.
Recording phone calls
No third-party app can record both sides of a native phone call. iOS and Android do not give apps access to the other person’s audio. If you want both sides, put the call on speakerphone so the other person is audible in the room. With a Bluetooth headset, the app hears you clearly but not the other side. The app shows which route it recorded from on each conversation.
Where the law requires it, get consent from the people you record.
Models: downloading or importing
The app records and takes notes without any model installed. To transcribe and summarise, install models from the engine screen in the app:
- Download — the app fetches the file from
models.brinkdebrief.com. This is the only thing the app uses the network for. - Import — if you have the model file already, import it from your device and the app makes no network request at all.
Listen and Listen Nano transcribe English. Listen Wide and Listen Wide Nano detect the spoken language and cover dozens of languages. Recap writes the summaries; Recap Nano is a lighter option for phones with less memory.
Deleting your data
Delete a conversation from inside the app, or uninstall the app to delete everything. There is no account and we hold no copy, so there’s nothing to request from us. More on the data deletion page.
